The Dean Exotica Nomad is an ideal starter guitar for young children and adults on the go as well. The solid Spruce top on this guitar bring you great tone from the price
The chrome tuners appeared to have a bit of play in them and did not give me a good impression.
The Dean Exotica Nomad does have a very nice tone for such a small-bodied guitar. As in all small-body guitars, this one is quite thin on tone as well, not much in the mid-tones, but plenty of treble and a surprising amount of bass response for a small guitar.
Understand I give it only a 5.5 rating as compared to ALL other guitars and when you compare this guitar to a Martin D28, well there is no comparison. But compared to other guitars in this price range it is better than average.
I thought the action on the Dean Exotica Nomad was good and I did not detect any intonation problems on the guitar I tested. I would get this guitar on the bench and adjust the nut and saddle a bit.
For a young child you certainly want a guitar to play as easy as possible. Adjustments are needed to virtually all guitars in this price category.
Having the Mahogany Laminate back and sides makes for a durable guitar, at the price of some tone. But, that is the trade-off we face.
I believe the Dean Exotica Nomad guitar will give you a long service without a lot of repair as long as its not abused.
The Dean Exotica Nomad guitar was put together in a humidity controlled atmosphere and you should keep it in that same type of atmosphere to minimize cracking or wood movement. A good humidifier for your room or home and guitar case is essential to minimize repair bills.

The Dean Exotica Nomad is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship from the date of purchase to the original purchaser when purchased from an authorized Dean MI dealer. Dean Musical Instruments will repair or replace, at its option, any Dean instrument or part thereof which is found by Dean MI to be defective. Dean MI reserves the right to use materials regularly utilized at the time of repair in the event that original materials are no longer available. Warranty service requires a copy of the original sales receipt to be presented at time of service request.

How To Obtain Warranty Service on the Dean Exotica Nomad Guitar:
In the event of malfunction of your Dean instrument, you should notify your nearest Authorized Dean MI dealer. The dealer will contact Dean MI for information and authorization to return the instrument to the Dean MI Headquarters. The dealer or owner must ship the instrument, freight and insurance pre-paid. No instrument may be returned to Dean MI without prior return authorization. Service performed by unauthorized persons will void this warranty. When returning an instrument a copy of the sales receipt establishing proof and time of purchase must be sent with instrument.
